Context

15:1 The land allotted to the tribe of Judah by its clans reached to the border of Edom, to the Wilderness of Zin in the Negev far to the south. 1

Joshua Sends Spies into the Land

2:1 Joshua son of Nun sent two spies out from Shittim secretly and instructed them: 2  “Find out what you can about the land, especially Jericho.” 3  They stopped at the house of a prostitute named Rahab and spent the night there. 4  2:2 The king of Jericho received this report: “Note well! 5  Israelite men have come here tonight 6  to spy on the land.”
